New Beginnings
I am still heartbroken about not waking up in Zambia for the next 3 months. It is still a hard pill to swallow. I've sat in countless classes, listening to people who are not from the Diaspora boast about their experiences in spaces that I have not been fortunate to experience for myself. I was looking forward to completing my MSW with UofM while simultaneously landing on the Motherland to be of whatever service the community made aware I was needed.
However, I am here. We are all here. Coping in different ways. I am working with ABISA, based out of Detroit, and at least it is with my African and Caribbean immigrant communities. I am also working on a photovoice-inspired project that I am immensely excited about. I will share more details later. It launched today!
